Standards and accountability

Responsible practice.
Clear accountability.

PARS is an independent membership society supporting informed, child-focused parenting assessment practice.

Supporting responsible practice.

PARS promotes child-focused, impartial, and professionally responsible assessment practice. This includes attention to the mandate, family safety, cultural and individual context, appropriate methods, transparent reasoning, and the limits of the assessor’s expertise.

Professional learning and dialogue support this work. PARS does not direct the conclusions reached by individual assessors.

Using the roster.

Members provide and manage their directory profiles. Suitability depends on the proposed assessment and each professional’s experience, services, and availability.

Confirm current registration, qualifications, services, fees, and arrangements directly with the assessor.

Professional responsibility.

Members remain responsible for their professional work and any required registration. Professional regulation and court obligations are separate from PARS membership.

PARS is not a professional regulator, and roster membership is not certification or a guarantee of an outcome. PARS cannot make regulatory findings, change an assessment report, or intervene in a court proceeding.

Questions or concerns.

Contact PARS with a brief description of your enquiry. Ask about the Society’s role and the process before providing confidential information.

Concerns about professional conduct may belong with the member’s regulator. Questions about legal proceedings should be discussed with a lawyer.
